I won't be updating my xanga blog anymore.

To pierce the heavens..

Almost 2 weeks without a post ^^" an update on my cosplay.
My cosplay nearing completion.
It wont be a complete cosplay since i still haven't found the right material for the shorts and boots. I'll just be wearing jeans. I found some shorts :D It's not exactly the right colour but i think its good enough.

Drilll 100% finished! I just hope the glue holds for the day.. xd

Skeleton for my goggles, a thin hair band thingy would have worked better but i couldn't find one, so substitute with some wire xd. I'll get some red foam sheets in a few days to stick on. If not, i'll just use the red fabric that i already have.

Bandages and red arm band will be finished tomorrow. I'll find the foam for my goggles after i finish these.

Things i still need and haven't found:~
-Core Drill. I'v been looking for the Gurren lagann first DVD that comes with the box. You get a free core drill with that :p. If i can't find it then i'll have to make one(I'v got all the materials already).. or just go without. Possibly pick one up at the Madman stall though.
-Blue Hair Spray. This is a must T_T
-White belt with silver/gray buckle, i'v got a cream coloured one but a white one would be better

After all that i'm finally complete~ (minus shorts and boots xD)

I went to Parramatta today to buy some white fabric at Lincraft for the bandages, after that i went to Town Hall to get some Tamiya Masking Tape(for Yoko) and Topcoat flat(for drill). Poped into Kinokuniya after that and had a look around the japanese magazines.. they had the Newtype and Shonen Ace you get a Mari figure with :o ..but i'm saving for Warhammer and Animania so i skipped on these T_T.
BUT! I did manage to pick something i wanted up.

Pretty cool book  XD

[I will make the move to wordpress early next month when my net is fast again. I will most probably change its name to something else since i noticed a few weeks ago S1 Productions is already a companys name, so stay tuned.]

I woke up with it and i think it stayed up the whole day XD. Also someone came up to me to take a photo of my shirt on the day :p  Excaliburrrrr

I was wondering around Chatswood today and found a store "Games Workshop" It had 3 tables set up with minatures on battlefields, i walked in to have a look.
Looking around a person working in the store walked up and asked if i wanted a demonstration game, i accepted ^^.
He showed me around and there were 3 different games there. Warhammer, Warhammer 40000 and Lord of the Rings.
I first started off with warhammer, table was set up with dwarfs and goblins - i chose goblin. I can't completely remember the details but the gameplay was something like this..

First there was a movement phase where you can move your units around. Different units are able to move different distances(i think). Everything is in inches.
Next you get to decide if your going to use your ranged units. Depending on how many units you have in the front line decides how many dice you roll. The first roll decides how many hits your ranged units got(for my goblin archers i think if i roll 4 or higher its a hit), then roll again for the shots that hit (5 or higher this time i think) if you get the right rolls that many of the opponents units die.
Lets say i got 3 kills, because im hitting dwarfs and they have high armour they get to roll 3 dice to see if their armour protected them(4 or more and they survive i think).
...
Once 2 opposing armies move together they battle. Because i was goblin they got to hit first. They attack like how the archers attack minus the first roll. again the dwarfs get to roll and see if their armour saved them.
Next is the dwarves attack, they roll, for the hits the goblins roll to see if their shields protected them (5 or higher).
After combat you calcualte who won the battle, each kill is 1 point, if you have a standard/flag thing another 1 point, musicians 1 point.
If its a draw nothing happends i think.. The person with the least points then has to take a leadership roll to see if their units will run from battle. Rolls 2 dice, 8 and under means they stay, if over they run.
If they run they roll a dice and whatever they get plus 2 is how far they run.
You then get to chase, if you roll higher than them then all their running units die.

The objective is whoever kills 2 groups of units first wins

After the game he then gave me a demo in how to paint them.

I got to take 2 goblin spear guys home with me and they gave me a magazine ^^.

Warhammer 40000 is similar but has some differences. Cant be botherd typing it up right now though. I think its pretty cool since missles and flamethrowers are AOE and can hit multiple units xd.

Smash! Day 1 - Part 2

I said in my last post i didnt get many photos so this will be a little recap >.<
It was the first time i got to handle a SD, they are a lot heavier than DDs xd. Their joints were easyer to move around also, but maybe a little harder to pose(?).

Overall Smash was fun, for the little space they had i think it was set out pretty nice. Got a free Red Bull while waiting in line xd. The only disapointing thing i think is that the figures were super overpriced.
Eg~

My Haruhi that i posted a while back. I got her for a bit over $90 ..they were selling her for $220 T_T

The Nendoroids- Cant realy see in this picture but from left to right it says $55, $69, $65, $59, $55, $69, $69. If they were a special set then ok.. ..but they arn't so they should be only around $30, $40 max. I got my Saber Nendo from Animania 2 years ago for $30.
Our currency isnt that weak against the Yen is it? xd

Smash! Day 1 - Part 1

I didnt get to take as many photos as i wanted, i was mainly around the dollfie and artist areas. The bjd table was realy nice though ^^. Super Dollfies are quite a bit heavier than Dollfie Dreams.
I'll probably split my Smash posts into 3 or 4 parts. So stay tuned :p

I was super tired at the end of the day, however i was able to leave all my bags and stuff at the dollfie area which was a nice bonus :)
